Clear Water Activity Centre: Terms and Conditions
1. Booking and Payment
- Advance Booking: Your online booking fee covers site entry only. This payment is required to manage numbers of visitors on site and is non-refundable.
- On-site Fees: All individual entry fees and charges for water activities must be paid upon arrival at the water sports centre.
- Accepted Payments: We accept both cash and card payments for all on-site transactions.
- Equipment Hire: All hire equipment must be paid for on the day and signed for by an adult aged 18 or over.
- Equipment return: Equipment must be returned to a member of staff at the end of the hire period.
2. Day Visitor Policy
- Opening Hours: The site is open for day visitors from 8.00 am. All visitors must be off the water by 8.00 pm.
- No Overnight Stays: We are a day-visit facility only. Sleeping in vehicles, overnight parking, and unauthorised camping are strictly prohibited.
- Camping Enquiries: If you wish to camp, this must be arranged separately through Spring Valley Lakes, as we do not manage camping bookings on the day-visitor side.
3. Water Safety and Conduct
- Swimming: Swimming is not allowed in the lake under any circumstances.
- Safety Gear: Life jackets or buoyancy aids must be worn at all times while on the water.
- Supervision: Children under 14 must be accompanied on the water at all times. Those under 16 must be supervised by an adult throughout their visit.
- Site Speed Limit: A strict 5 mph speed limit applies across the entire site for the safety of all guests.
4. Site Environment
- Eco-Friendly Site: We ask all visitors to take their rubbish home.
- Dogs: Dogs must be kept on leads. Please use the designated bins for bagged dog waste only.
- BBQs: Only reusable BBQs are permitted and must be 15 inches off the grass. Disposable BBQs are not allowed.
- Alcohol: No alcohol is permitted on the day-visitor side. Alcohol purchased from the Bud Bus must be consumed within its designated area.
- Clean Equipment: You must ensure your craft is clean and free from foreign contaminants such as sand / mud to protect our spring-fed water.
5. Scuba Wales Training & Certification
5.1 Course Fees and Deposits
- Booking Deposits: A non-refundable deposit is required at the time of booking to secure your place. This is set at £200 for the Open Water course, and £150 for Advanced and Rescue courses.
- Balance Payments: Any remaining balance must be paid in full at least two weeks before your course completion.
5.2 Cancellations and Refunds
- Medical Suitability: You must ensure you meet all medical criteria for your chosen course before studying the manual or using any materials.
- Refund Policy: Once materials have been used, a refund can only be made on the course fees, less £200 to cover administration and materials already issued. This is subject to receiving written cancellation at least seven days before the course begins.
- Weather Conditions: Diving is weather-dependent. We reserve the right to change the dive site or date at short notice. Scuba Wales is not liable for any losses resulting from cancellations due to inappropriate weather.
5.3 Late Payments and Breaches
- Late Fees: Late payments will incur a charge of £10 per seven-day period.
- Correspondence: Any administrative correspondence regarding late payments will incur a charge of £5 per item.
- Repayment Schemes: Two breaches of a repayment agreement will lead to the mandatory and immediate payment of all outstanding course fees and charges in full.
5.4 Course Documentation and Study
- Requirements: You will be required to sign various documents, including a learning agreement, safe diving practices statement, liability release, and medical form. These can be obtained from Scuba Wales in advance.
- Deadlines: Your booking confirms your agreement to submit all pre-course work by the relevant deadline and to arrive for all sessions by the designated time.
- Changing Dates: If your original date becomes inconvenient, you may transfer to a new date once at no extra charge. Any subsequent postponements or cancellations will result in the loss of all fees paid.
5.5 Inclusions and Exclusions
- Included: Course materials and certification are included in your course fee.
- Excluded: Divemaster registration fees are not included and must be paid directly to the awarding body (SDI or PADI). Course fees do not include travel, entrance fees, boat fees, or accommodation.
- Equipment: Equipment and gas fills are only provided for Experience Programmes and the Open Water Diver course. For all other courses, equipment hire is available at a reduced rate of £25 per day plus gas fills.
- Liability: You are liable for the cost of repair or replacement for any equipment you lose or damage during your course or hire period.
